Surf''s Up!

Greetings all. We have been connectionless for a couple of days so here is the catchup version of what we have been doing.

After what seems to have been more than our fair share of disadvantageous conditions, we finally got to set out with favourable winds, really favourable, but light. All sails up and poled out to catch it all. It was a bit ironic in these light winds to see expansive wind farm installations on the hills along the coast. We later found out why they were there. As the winds and seas built up we got to surf the backsides of the swell and get a better feel for Kinneret when the going gets rougher. It was fun, but we took out the pole and later reefed the main and still did very good time. Just east of Matane, we spotted a beached submarine and were not sure what to make of it. We had seen a beached whale just before Rimouski so this seemed plausible. It seems however that it was bought a few years ago as an attraction for the area.

We finished the day in Ste Anne des Monts and found it a very pretty place to visit.
